Breaking Eggs

A reading for Monday, August 10, 2020: Acts 17:1-9.

"Some of them were persuaded and joined Paul and Silas, as did a great many of the devout Greeks and not a few of the leading women."

There's an old saying, "If you want to make an omelet, you have to break a few eggs." Paul and Silas were evangelizing, teaching in the synagogue that Jesus was Lord over all. The Bible says many were persuaded and became followers.

The fact that others were not convinced and even worked hard against Paul and Silas does not change or diminish the good work done.

There will always be someone unhappy and dissatisfied with our work. There's another saying, "you can't make all the people happy, all the time." So don't try... do your part for faith.

God will use you today. Thanks be to God!
